in my past experiences there is very little that can be done. if there is any rotting or decomposing tissue still jellied in there then yes absolutely remove it. the worst part about this is that when this happens to me any connected head where the coral hasn't completely split is also very likely to bail or jelly. There really isnt a treatment for this, if it was bacterial obviously we would try cipro, but if this is due to flow. clean it up and move on and hope that none of the others do it

These was a bailed candy cane head that eventually regrew it’s skeleton and I was then able to attached it to something. Took awhile but it happens.
