75-gallon build

I bought a 75-gallon tank a few days ago. It came with a Marineland 360 canister filter, beams work marine light, a black wood stand, and a lot of other stuff. I plan on painting the stand a dark brown either today or tomorrow, to match my 55-gallon tank stand. I performed a leak test and the tank is in great condition. It also has a removable blue background, do you guys think backgrounds are cheesy or not?

Backgrounds are fine. You may want to look at a HOB filter over the canister.

Alright, thanks for the tip. I was thinking I will use the canister for now and then upgrade later

Turns out the canister filter leaks like crazy so I just got 2 hobs that will come tomorrow lol

Added Ammonia and beneficial bacteria starter 3 days ago and ammonia already went down from 2ppm to .5ppm in 2 days. Nitrate and Nitrite are not present at this moment. pH is 7.9 and the temperature is at 77 F.
Salinity is 1.025
Added CaribSea life rock 2 days ago and the sand 3 days ago.

This is the tank currently and I'm only having the lights on for a short duration
Trying to decide if I should get more rock as there are only 20 lbs in the tank currently, I might add some later.

Ordered 40 more pounds of rock that should get here tomorrow. My nitrites and nitrates are going up, the cycle is going well.

Got the rock Saturday. Rinsed it and put it together with superglue and epoxy. The epoxy really didn't hold very well so I just ended up stacking the rocks and will use gel superglue tomorrow. I also made lids using polycarbonate poster board from the craft store.

Tested this morning and Ammonia is 0ppm, Nitrite is 5ppm, and Calcium is 500ppm. I will continue to test every other day until both ammonia and nitrite reach 0ppm
