75 gallon cycling

So I’m cycling my 75 gallon tank i just started cycling it 2 days and its at 85 degrees for some reason my heater is at 79 right now and it sets at an automatic temperature it is near a window but the blinds are closed and it’s night time so I don’t know why it is getting so hot

Could it be your other equipment, such as pump or lights? You might need to look into a chiller. I'd double check the temp with a second thermometer first though, just to make sure it's real, then start looking for warm sources. I'd also question the setting accuracy of the heater. Is it coming on? If so, set it lower. If not, look for other heat sources like pump and lights. Then make the decision on whether or not you need a chiller.

Have you tried turning off the heater to see if its faulty? Some heaters need to be calibrated. I am assuming the room is not hot?

The heater off I turned it off this morning I checked the lights and it’s not that hot I’ll try a different temperature and I’ll let you know on that

What temp is the room?

Around 75

It’s a bit lower temp it’s at 82.9 but not much lower temperature

Yes I have a glass lid
