Hey guys, my LFS is selling a 75 Drilled with a hardwood stand and she will help me swap over my sump and whatnot for $650. Is this a good deal? thoughts?

I think it's meh. There's much worse and there's better. I can get a brand new, 6' 125 at my LFS for $700. That's not including the stand, overflow or anything else though. But, if you're handy, you can probably build a stand and drill a tank for $150. Bulkheads and plumbing included. So take what you must from it.

I paid $150 for mine used with stand. It is not drilled and I wish I had done that. I would check Craigslist first to see what you can find. Plumbing a system is not hard.

a hardwood stand alone can be expensive plus she's offering to help (manual labor) of connecting/moving your sump to the new tank for $650? IMHO not bad deal if they're providing the labor (delivery & setup) for this but like others said if you are handy and enjoy the setting up (which some folks enjoy more than running a tank) then this may not be attractive. I bought a brand new 93 RR cube w MDF stand from a guy who no longer wanted it for $400 but I had to bring it home & connect the sump myself and I don't enjoy the setup process. Drilling a tank costs $ too.

All opinions into account I think I’m probably going to go ahead and do it. They provide delivery, the premixed saltwater, they will help me swap all of my plumbing and everything and are also willing to take my current tank/stand for a decent amount of credit. $150-200. Also helping out a local business. (The only one within an hour of my house)

Good move! Think that's a pretty good deal when its net $450 after trade in! ...I still haven't sold my previous tank after upgrading (over a year) and the wife is asking when I'm going to get rid of it.

Yeah, if they are doing all that, then pull the trigger.

If it was just a straight sale then no.

Good luck with the new tank!
