75 gallon GlassCages build

Well been a bit of a roller coaster. Added a possum wrasse that lasted less than a week. Then I suspected flukes and ran 2 rounds of Prazi. My other wrasse did not make it either and I’m wondering if it was bacterial. I’ll never know. Made some lighting changes and turned the intensity down significantly, removed the diffusers, and brought the bars closer to the 64’s. I’ve attach a current tank shot as well as a PAR map. I’m considering taking these 36” bars off and putting 48” bars on.

Been a bit since any sort of update. Here’s a recent pic of the tank. Added a small Maxima clam and a donut, figured I’d post.

Don’t know the exact time difference between these pics, but I’ll take the progress…

Had some ups, and several downs in the system… had started a WaterBox 60.2 that was SPS dominant I just knocked down and put all the sticks in this tank. Hoping it grows out nicely and hits cruise control soon. Current pic.

Red goni was JUST able to reach my Lime in the Sky colony at full stretch… now it’s Snow White. Ugh.

Recent shot of the tank. Some stuff growing, some stuff stalled. Took my fuge offline so I’ll be keeping an eye on nutrients. Been researching carbon dosing in case my weekly wc’s, skimmer, and filter sock don’t keep things in check.

Got the remainder fish moved over from my WaterBox tear down. I lost my pink streak wrasse, unfortunately. Haven’t seen him in a few days. Hoping he pops up somewhere, but not too optimistic about it, unfortunately. Also added 2 nems, a donut shaped rock, and my 2 clownfish to an acclimation box. The nems took hold of the rock and the clowns are loving it. They stayed in the box for about a week, and I added them to the gen pop today. Bottom right corner on those guys… things chugging along.

Not much doins with the tank. Started dosing NOPOX, since I increased feeding with the fish that got moved over. Keeping NO3 and PO4 in check. Haven’t missed the fuge for a second. Noticed no drop in PH and the nutrients have been incredibly easy to manage. Slight aiptasia outbreak and keeping them in check with Aiptasia-X. I have a couple pepps in my sump in case things get out of control, but so far, nothing insane. Put my Avast Marine kalkwasser stirrer back online for some nightly PH boost too. Should probably swap some new carbon in soon, now that I’m thinking about it…

Where did you get that sump? And how many gallons?

Little bit of a disaster but it’s the Trigger Systems Triton 34 V2, with the 5 gallon ATO to the left. Got them both from my local store. Not terribly sure on gallonage but it’s 34”x15”, the fuge section I’m pretty sure is capable of 11 gallons on its own, plus whatever the rest can handle depending on baffle heights.

Didn’t really like where my Garf Bonsai was positioned so had to break the colony off. Hoping the monti cap continues to grow where it was, and then more so in front of the Fox Flame. My heliofungia has checked out, and down to about 5-10% flesh left. It hasn’t been happy for some time and i was expecting its decline to speed up for a while now. Other than that, got some bulk heads for my dosing bottles finally so that’s a bit tider. Also, the irony of dosing NO3, as well as carbon dosing is ringing loud right now. lol. But all the coral have responded well so far. Typical boring tank shot below!

The helio fully checked out. Think im going to move a couple pieces around/out of this tank and snag a TSA indo gold torch or a Knicks this weekend. I cut up a colony of Bonsai and will trade the frags in.

Anyways, have been at least been steady on swapping carbon out and refilling the kalk stirrer every 3 weeks. Carbon dosing has proven to lower my PO4 very well, but has barely budged NO3. Guessing that number is happy right there, and that it would be a lot higher if I wasn’t dosing NOPOX. I’ll continue to monitor and see if something tanks off.
