I am going to be setting up a 75 gallon reef in September and I was wondering what light to get. My budget is around $500.

What corals (if any) do you plan to keep?
The corals you plan to keep determine the type and intensity of lighting required.
How many do you have?
What size tank?
I was thinking a variety of corals sps, and lps.
Many options out there. Are you wanting to go led? Sky is the limit, value black box leds, 4-6 bulb T5, even used halide/T5 systems out there to fit your budget. Our 75 reef was running a used current halide/T5 system that cost us 250.00 dollars. Just depends what your looking for.
One wouldn't cover the tank unfortunately. I've seen the reefbreeders in action, they are nice and sleek looking. Our halide/T5 fixture was 48" long and worked well but was an eye sore. There is also SB reef led lighting
What size photon would you think for a 75g the 32” or 48”

How much did it cost altogether with the bulbs?
If your tank is 48" long (approx.) I would do the larger unit.
One radion XR-30 would not be enough. A 48" reefbreeder would look nice. One reefbreeder wouldn’t be enough?
