I'm starting a new build and am trying to find the best lighting (still on a budget). I also want this to be slick and low profile. I'm not to keen on the hanging black led box lights. I'm looking into the current USA light strips. I found someone locally selling a Maxspect RS 150 for a great price. I see in the specs that max coverage is 48x24.

What do you guys think? Will the Maxspect work?

The tank for now only plans to have fish with easy to care corals.

Thanks

The Maxspect 150 may work if you keep softies and low light LPS on the sides. My tank is 36” long and I have the 150 with LPS on the sides that are growing nicely. I would think Zoas, Duncans and Euphyllia would be fine.

So far a hybrid t5, led fixture is on point. Par is great and looks amazing. You can put cheaper black boxes in the fixture for the led supplement. Not crazy expensive.
