My tank is currently cycling and I'm just trying to figure out my stocking list for when it is done.
As of right now I'm looking for somewhere between 6-10 fish but at the same time I don't want to overstock the tank.
My list now includes:
Pair of Designer Clownfish
Six Line Wrasse
Pair Of Lyretail Anthias
Kole Yellow Eye Tang
Foxface Rabbitfish
Lawnmower Blenny

Any suggestions?

Obligatory "don't add them all at once" comment :)

It looks to be a great list although the rabbitfish will get a bit large for that size tank and I would personally reconsider it. On the anthias, general consensus is 3 or more should be kept, not entirely sure how well a pair will do or if that will cause aggression issues.

Welcome to R2R!

Of course haha, and I plan on adding the tang last. Hmm, I might just cut the Foxface out then go with 4 Anthias. And thanks!

Personally, I'd probably pass on lyretails in a 75g. You can try, but they are sort of aggressive towards each other and theres a chance you'll end up with a single male. A more peaceful option would be maybe Dispar or Carberryi.

6-lines can get nasty too. If you are set on him, go for it. But, if you want a pest-removing wrasse that will play nice with other fish a halichoerus species or one of the easier leopards could be a good choice. Fairy and flasher wrasses are mostly peaceful with other fish as well...even different wrasses :)

Appreciate the comment. A flasher wrasse (probably a McCosker's) was my 2nd choice after a six line and if I can't find a Dispar or Carberryi Anthias at one of my LFS's, I'll probably just pass on Anthias in general. If I do end up passing on both the Anthias and Foxface, any suggestions to replace them?

Well, I'm a wrasse fanatic so I have a bunch of those in my 120. Mccosker's are nice, just make sure your tank is covered.

Basslets are a good choice, and I believe chalk bass even are supposed to do well in small groups. Assessors are cool fish that swim upside down.

Tilefish, cardinal fish, and dart fish will work. Some dwarf angels might work if you aren't afraid of coral nipping. Multibarred and Potters are on the "better behaving" list but can be tricky to get eating. And could turn to coral munching anyway.

All of these are great suggestions, but a sixline will be aggressive to just about all of them.

Just an update, my tank has been cycling for almost 7 weeks now, (7 on Thursday). All the parameters on the tank are very good I just want to stabilize it at least one more week and I plan on adding fish (probably the pair of clowns first) sometime then and due to suggestions here, my current future stock list is a pair of designer clownfish, Kole Yellow Eye Tang, McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, Lawnmower Blenny, and the rest is still to be determined. As you can see that's only 5 fish and I want at least 1 or 2 more as I want a lot of swimming in the tank. Any suggestions would be great to finish my stocking list, thanks!

Add the tang last and well after the algae blenny, as kole tangs are often aggressive to algae blennies.

You could add one or two more flasher or fairy wrasses, grammistes blenny, purple tilefish, flame or longnose hawk.

Thanks for telling me, honestly didn't know that. Was thinking of adding a flame hawk so definitely will keep that in mind.

I agree on adding kole after the blenny. I made the mistake of adding my blenny last and my kole will NOT stop bullying it, and it's been 3 months since the blenny was added.

How long would you recommend adding the Kole after the blenny? If I add it last it probably would be a minimum of a month anyways.
