Hey guys currently I have a marineland 75 gallon reef ready tank running. Been running about a year now. But i bought this whole set up from someone who had it running for 3 years then let it sit for a year. As all things go the return pump is starting to lose power and sometimes doesn't start when its unplugged then plugged back in. So im looking into picking a new return pump. But the real question is is what size pump to get? I cant really find anywhere that gives the drainage a gph to get a pump to match. Anyone have any suggestions? I think the tank has a mag 5 now but i feel like it could handle more. Let me know guys!

I ran a MagDrive 9.5 on my 75, if I ever build another 75+ gallon tank I would prefer to go with the Eheim brand.

What type of overflow do you have? That will determine your max pump size.

Eheim 1262
Eheim 1262 is a Great pump but a lil pricey. The Mag 7 should work fine and is more economical. I ran 2 mag 7's on my 125 and 180 and worked great. the mag 7's run kinda warm, so my heaters hardly ran at all

I'm running a Speedwave DC pump on my 75. Really like this pump. Has adjustable speed, a feed button (so no plugging/unplugging), and it's silent.
