I know there are several threads on here about setting up a 75 gallon reef tank, but I'd like to get some ideas on what I've got currently and what I still need to get. I have a 75 gallon tank and stand. My overflow box has hard pvc leading back to the sump. The sump is a 20l tank divided into three sections. The first section is big enough for my Coralife cone skimmer for up to 150 g, and has a 10" baffle, the second section will be for my refugium. I know I need to buy a light for the chaeto, what light should I get? The second baffle is 8" tall, and the third chamber is for my Syncra silent 2.0 return pump rated fro 568 US gph. My return hose is vinyl tubing (which I've never used before). My return pump only had adapters for vinyl tubing, so I have five feet of it. The tube is still twisted, and the return thing hooking over the back of my tank isnt bolted down at all, I'm not sure how to to do it. Will the tubing straighten out when pressure is increased inside the tube? If so, how do I make sure that it doesnt spray water all over the place? I currently have three bags of live sand, 80 lbs of dry rock, and a heater. Do I need to run a power filter in the sump? I'm probably going to add another 20-30 pounds of dry rock, then seed it with a piece of live rock from the LFS once I get everything up and running. I'll start my cycle with some shrimp, and I have an RO/DI unit thats currently working its little butt off making enough water to fill the tank. I use Instant Ocean reef crystals in my other tanks, so I was going to use the same for this tank. I dont know what light I'm going to get yet, so any input on that would be great. I'm getting two Hydor Koralia Evolution 1400/1500 Aquarium Circulation Pumps, and will put one on each side of my tank. I'm really looking to put some water in the tank in the next few days, so any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
