Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a 48'' x 20'' x 18'' 75 gallon aquarium and I wanted to know your suggestions to my stocklist.
1 Kole tang
1 One spot foxface
2 naked clowns
1 Carberryi anthias
1 Potters angel
3-5 Blue/green Chromis
All bought as juveniles

I would like to keep them all as they are all beautiful fish but I know there is tang police, foxface maxs out at 7'', anthias eat frequently and swim a lot, angel may nip corals, and the chromis may dwindle down to just one.
I was thinking on doing a 40b sump/fuge and put half of the 75 lbs of live rock there to give more room to the DT. It would eventually be a mixed reef in the future.
I would love to hear everyone's suggestions and maybe alternatives.
Thanks

That's a large bio load for a 75g, what skimmer do you have AMD will there be a sump?

My friend gave me a reef octopus skimmer thats rated for 210 gallons. It would go in my 40 gallon sump.

General rule is one inch of fish (full size) to every 2-3 gallons. I have a kole tang and fix face pair of bulk clowns 3 yellow tail blue dams smiths damsel lawnmower blenny and a six line that I can remember plus crabs shrimp and other cc in my 75 mixed reef. Been running it for 2 years on an eshops ps-75 skimmer rated 75 gallons and a home made 10 gallon (due to space) sump.

Wow that's a beautiful setup dwebb. And good to know! If I did it right you have a total of 30 inches in your tank.Of course there is variables that affect this general rule. Thanks!

thank you, and yes i run the high end of the equation, but it has worked for me. eager to see your results.

If you're only getting 1 anthias, you might be better off with a bartlett's. They are easier to feed, hardier, and less likely to fade in color without a harem.

You might also consider an easier dwarf angel. Coral beauty is a good beginner angel and somewhat similar in appearance.

I like the way you think! I gave in my 46, 2 clowns, foxface, carfinal, firefish, mckoskers wrasse, bicolorblenny, and engineer goby. Plan in adding more to my new 72 with a skimz 203 rated for 590 gallons!

I would say either the chromis or the anthias

No to the potters angel

75 might cause issues as the fox face and kole get older and bigger

Here are some anthias that do best singly: sunburst, borbonius, pink square, bimac, and fasciatus. The sunburst is especially suited for lifein a 75g.

Kole tangs vary in their suitability for a 75g, some can be model citizens, some can be jerks. Have an exit strategy if yours becomes a jerk.

Potters angels are one of the more difficult to keep dwarf angels.

My 75 has yet to be touched so I might consider selling it for a 125 and go with the same stocking list to accommodate the bioload. Might get squareback as well.1+ to the ditching of the angel. Thank you guys

With good filtration and water changes you may he ok with bio load a kole tang is fine in that size tank. Add the fish slow and see how it does that is the best guide.
