Hey everyone
I am in the process of upgrading my tanks into a 75 gallon innovative marine. I presently have a 37 gallon cube that is finally the way I wanted it. Levels have been really good and I'm happy with the results of three years hard work. I also have a peninsula mini 25 that is only 3 mths old. I'm contemplating combining both, but I don't want to jeopradize the 37 Gallon. I've waited a while to do this and I'm jumping in. I have bubble magus C3.5, 2 hydra 26, jebao 5000, aqua ultraviolet 15 watt UV. I'm pretty sure I will be needed more equipment in the future. I am pretty much a do it yourself type person because of money. Every tank I've had, I've done everything from building the stands to the plumbing and even made my sump. Sorry guys, I wish I could go the whole shebang. Maybe one day. I do have some questions though that I would love for peoples opinion. So here goes.

1) What size sump should I go with? I'm looking at the trigger sumps, Are they any good?
2) What plumbing is safer and better, external overflow, or an internal overflow? I have a choice between both. Not talking an AIO.
3) How do I do the transition to the new tank? What would be best? Like I said, I'd like to keep the levels almost on point from the 37 gallon.
4) would combining the new tank with the old do damage?

1. At least 20 gallons. Trigger, Sapphire, etc. - there are a lot of great sumps out there.
2. There are pros and cons to both, but I don't think either poses more risk than the other. If you need the tank flush to the wall internal can accommodate that better.
3. Insta-cycle.
4. See #3, and no - there's no risk if done properly.

You can get a 40breeder and have more than plenty of room for all equipment
