Hey all,
I've got a Red Sea 750 XXL on order (currently on back order due to the stand issues they're sorting out).
Anyways, i'm trying to get all my support equipment ordered so i have it ready when the tank arrives.
Does anyone know what size return/ overflow piping comes on the tank?
I'm pretty sure its metric so i'll have to convert it to imperial, do most people use 3/4?

Thanks for the help R2R!

See post #1212 in Broadfield’s Reefer 450 build thread for all the parts you’ll need to convert the metric Red Sea plumbing to standard plumbing...

The Red Sea piping is 32mm on the drains and 25mm on the return.

The easiest way to convert the tank over is to do it right at the base of the pipes under the tank in the stand.

You need Red Sea part #42221
You will need to unscrew and remove the nipple from that part. Then replace it with a 3/4" threaded PVC fitting. You can use this part on all three pipes. BE WARNED, once you use a smaller diameter piece it will be a choke point and will reduce flow. Does it matter that much.. No, not really. I used this on my return line and have more than enough flow.

This is the cheapest place I found that has the part. IGNORE the fact that it says it's for different tanks. That doesn't matter, your modifying it to suit your tank.

Also coralvue does sell some metric PVC parts

Okay awesome, and last question. Does the tank come with this piece on any of the lines already or do I need to buy them for all three?
Thanks so much for the help guys!

No.. it doesn’t come with this piece. The ones that it comes with are factory glued and can not be taken apart.

They just announced a 900 XXL so you may want to rethink the 750. I've had my 750 going for 4 months and wondering if I should upgrade.

Here’s a screen shot of an email I got from Red Sea when asking for the return line barbed dimensions.
