Hey guys and gals i have a 75g display with about 15-20gal sump. I usually have two heaters running to keep temp up but i noticed tonight i have a dead heater. Can anyone recommend a single heater that will heat this tank. My house can get quite cold in the winter. Upper 50’s lower 60’s when im out of the house.

so the neotherms recommend a 300w for a 75gal tank but ehiem recommends a 150w for a 75gal
The price difference is wild too
Yea the cobalt is a bit pricey, but they are super nice and reliable with a 3 year warranty. Personally I would go with the eheim in a sump, and a cobalt if this was an AIO system where space in the filtration was at a premium.

I use 2 jagger 200 watt heaters on my 75 hooked Into a blue line heater controller in case one ran wild and didn’t turn off the controller will shut it down before nuking tank.

It was a good idea running two heaters. I would continue to run two heaters rather than going to a single heater, so that you'll have the redundancy in case one heater breaks (like your current situation).

I agree with others who mentioned Eheim Jagers. I used them for years in my freshwater tanks, and over the past year, I have been running two 250W in my 90 gallon reef tank.

I'm running an eheim in the sump, and an aquatop titanium in the main display. The aquatop is just more aesthetically pleasing. I run one in the display tank in case the return pump fails, the DT will still be heated.
