Here is an experimental project I have started in my head. So far its going to be just a build and sell project unless it really hits my eye. Which it will.

The plan is to take
This tank:

And
This glass:

And design a shallow tank with 2 islands in each corner that stick out of the water for land critters of the beach.

The sketch shows the island placement.
I will have the overflow be literally through the mound of rocks.

Now? How to make islands.
If I can do it with real live rock that could be cool but I am great with aragocrete.

I could sculpt these islands any way I like.

The other option is a lightweight reef safe foam. That could be used to form the structure and aragocrete the outside

Then there is option 4: chopping off the tip of a tropical island and using that, but I live very far from anything remotely tropical so we will probably scratch this one off.

I also had another idea but it was kind of wild. Designing the entire decor out of strips of glass. Sort of like an under water ice castle. I would make sure the edges were smooth but...cleaning could become very annoying if I wanted it all clear, but coralline covered shards of glass might also be cool.

Again, this is a side project and I am open to any suggestions.

Here is what I have now

There's 2 drain holes in the 75g tank. No overflow or bulkheads. I have a few sheets if 4ft glass.

very cool im following along but im wondering if that live rock that is out of the water will stink or do you plan to have kind of a water fall effect
