Finally! A tank bigger than 30g! haha
Upgrading from a 20H so very excited for the expansion.

Tank Specs:
75g Perfecto corner overflow
Ecotech MP40es
Mag 7 return
Super reef Octo 2000 internal skimma
20gLong DIY sump w/ potential refugium not set on it yet
8x54watt T5's
Shallow sand bed
Bought 28lbs of LR and ill have maybe 20-25lbs from the 20g so i dunno if itll be enough prob not -.-

Just getting it filled up with saltwater yesterday and today. Only a few gallons to go. Will post pics tomor!

I have 75 pounds in my 75g and it is almost to much IMO. You will have to see how it look but less rock mean more room for corals to grow. At least that is my view. You going to do a build thread on the tank.

Yeah i was thinking a peninsula from the corner overflow then a solid island at the other. I have the tank positioned in the room so its viewable from all sides. Im so sick of the wall of rock look and want to refine my aquascaping skills lol.

To do list:
-finish return
-receive skimma
-hang T5's
-buy more lr
All then is cycling to finish which started yesterday 4/29/12 then comes some nice fish

I have a 30g long under my tank. I have a mag 18 pushing water from the sump but it also supplies my biopellet reactor and I throttle back half way so my skimmer has a chance to clean most of the water. In other word I should have ran a mag 7 but I have a scwd wave maker splitting to return and thought I needed it. Oops.

Turns out the mag5 that i have gives plenty of gph through the sump so no $ spent there;) and the MP40es is freakin awesome!!! Hands down best ph. Tank plumbing is fully cured and ran a test period yesterday, all is great! Now i just need the skimmer which can come in due time no rush since the tank is cycling. No more nitrate test matrials left so im off to my lfs(something fishy) and probably some other things lol as usual. Cant wait for fish!

Dang its only been 6 days with water.....patience patience haha

Lol, can be one of the most difficult parts, I am at 4 weeks with water and still cycling away. If you are not good with having patienece I do firmly believe that this hobby will help you develop it  Are you going to be doing a qt tank for your new fish?

Ive been putting in waterchange water from the 20g and took 3/4 of the rock so ive got alot of beneficial bacteria from the start. Also i have a blue damsel i can transfer over to get things going as well. He was just that damsel i could never catch lol. Crossing my fingers it wont be too long! And no i wasnt planning on qting..

very nice tank. if you have the room macro algae refugiums are amazing nutriant exporters

Thanks ! I dont have anymore room in my sump because of the skimma, return, phosphate and carbon reactors so thatll be left out unfortunately.

Recently added livestock:
Blue eyed Kole Tang(two spot tang)
30 cerith snails that are laying eggs like clockwork lol
...and tomorrow i plan on getting a few corals and a fish or two. Been really looking at a sand sifters and fairy wrasses(pink exquisite, solarenis, group of flashers maybe???)

I ended up getting the Octopus xp-1000SSS cone skimmer and couldnt be happier! Started skimming right out of the box very little needed to adjust and is working in 8in of water. Premium Aquatics rocks btw!

Thats pretty much it but i plan on starting my sps gardens soon :)
