This tank was recently upgraded from a 50g. It is softie dominant with various algaes, rock nems, gorgonians, sponges, and some LPS.

No sump, though I would love one. I move water around with two powerheads and a HOB filter filled with rubble and carbon on occasion. I use a Reef Octopus HOB skimmer periodically, too.

Lit with two AI Primes and a Finnex Planted+. Five fish: two occies, one royal gramma, one canary blenny, and a pink-streak wrasse. RIP my tail-spot to a jumping incident (fish really do have a talent for knowing exactly where the gaps in the lid are).

Loads of snails, hermits, brittle stars, and one small resident mantis shrimp I’ve had for two years now.

Everything looks happy

I use moonshine. I expected more but it’s ok

About 14 months

Got my Moonshine elements today and plan to begin dosing tomorrow.

Caulerpa is growing, red twizzlers are becoming a pox, two red legged’s stared wistfully into one another’s eye stalks and I added two new giant feather dusters, dark mahogany and banded crimson. I’ve kept my pink and white fan worm alive for over a year and attribute my success to a respectably dirty tank, frequently dosed with live phyto (store-bought and home farmed), Yello Sno, mulm from my plankton and pod containers, and delectable other goodies.

Lovely tank! Have you been able to get any pics of your mantis?
Thank you, I’m looking forward to watching stuff grow.

Here is the mantis peering at me from her front door, back when she had her own tank:

I should get more pics, she is out a lot and is a fantastic little creature. However, I am moving her to the ‘fuge. Not out of anything she did, but she hitched a ride in there and I don’t want to chase her around.

That’s right, the ‘Podge will soon have its own 50g refugium

The plan is to use a Lifereef HOB overflow. Yay
