75g Uncharted Territory

He's a cutie, too!

+1, Flashy Fins - While I've yet to lay eyes on a female flasher, I wound up with a male McCosker's and a male yellowfin, along with a Lubbock's fairy. They're all pretty small yet, but over the last few weeks there's been little _dangerous_ aggression, but plenty of displaying from all three.

McCosker's and Lubbock's are two of my favorites. Actually, those 2 and a blue flasher wrasse are the three I'm planning to keep in a 40 breeder. One has successfully completed quarantine, and I'll get the others soon. The tank is newly set up, so I'm waiting for it to stabilize before I start tossing in fish, but I'm excited to see the flashing behavior multiple males in the same tank will encourage.

With 75 gallons, you could do a few more wrasses, if you like. Some suggestions of personal favorites:

Royal flasher
Labout's fairy (expensive, but sometimes you can catch a deal)
Blue flasher (stunning flashing colors)

Thanks for the suggestion. That actually sounds like an interesting idea. They would have enough space to not fight too much? I've never had a wrasse so this is new to me.

Yes, as long as you have a decent amount of rock work, they will have space to coexist. Having more of them spreads out the aggression, so no particular fish gets all the chasing. Just stay away from the few that don't get along with others (mystery, sixline, a few others) and add more than one wrasse at a time and/or use an acclimation box for new additions.

If you scroll down on this page, there is a very helpful chart for mixing fairy wrasses. With flasher wrasses, I believe all the commonly sold ones will get along. [HASHTAG]#evolved[/HASHTAG] or [HASHTAG]#eatbreakfast[/HASHTAG] can help you with particular mixes and make sure you aren't getting a wrasse that won't mix well.

Picked up a cleaner shrimp the other day. He's adjusting well and seems to have found his favorite cleaning station. I really missed having one of these guys around.

Also potential change to my stock list. Would a Foxface be OK in this tank? I'm not sure whether I really want to get into tangs. Seems there are horror stories everywhere about them. Any input?

I love blennies. They always look so smug.

As an update, I just got a chiller for the tank, as it was starting to creep towards 80 on warmer days. Also here are some current shots of the tank.

It's been a long time, but here's an update! Tank has been doing well, stock hasn't changed too much, however I am down to one wrasse now. I lost both my exquisite wrasse and carpenters. Just down to my canary wrasse, kole tang, clown pair and pajama cardinal. So I'm trying to think of something colorful to add.
