Currently I have some Zoas and Lavender Mushrooms. Planning on getting some more Mushrooms and Xenia. I might not do LPS and SPS.

I currently have 2 Hydor Koralia 565gph and obviously they are not enough. I'm considering replacing (completely) those with other 2 Hydor but not sure if I should go for 1150 or 1500. Isn't 1500 too much for a 75gal?

2 1050s would be enough if your just going with softies . If How much flow is your return pump?

I don't have a sump. Just a skimmer and a Hob filter but the flow on the hob is not much.

Okay, I would still think you would fine ( I’ve had 2 1150s on my old 90 gal. tank with a mag 7 return pump . I had a mixed tank of softies and lps/spsbut since you have hob you might want to go up to the 1400 as you can make them deflect off glass if too strong in places . You could buy the wavermaker kit for them. It would give you options with flow ..

Thank you. So what does the wavemaker kit do? Increasing and reducing flow? But if it's not necessary then I'd stick with just 2 poweheads...

Edit: never mind I didn't read your last sentence.

You’re very welcome . It’s not really necessary. I bought it just I could alternate my flow with the 2 pumps. Attached is detail from amazon. I think there about $40 if you ever decide to get .

Thank you I'll def look into it!

By the way the 1500's can ship faster to me so I wonder if I should go with that. They are not much more expensive than the 1150. The only thing I'm worried is they might be too much flow for the fish and corals. I keep clowns, yellow tang, cardinal, hawkfish, anthias, butterfly,...

Those hydor evo are deceptive. They measure the flow without the protective cover. The flow gets cut by a good bit if I remember correctly. They're also prone to cracking and leaking electricity.

If you want a decent cheap cheap powerhead. I have a couple of sunsun jvp-101s I think they're 700ish flow. Very cheap though. They've been running for yrs. I can show you flow from one in a 40b if you want

If you can swing around $50ea I recommend a couple tunze 6025s. They're bullet proof and plenty powerful.

Imo you want right around 20x turnover for a softie tank

I've looked at the Sunsun before but why are they soooo cheap? I mean really cheap. That made me think about their quality but since you mentioned that they're running for years I might have to reconsider them... Thankss!

I would just go with 1150s if you do not get the wave maker and buy wave maker if you buy the 1500’s so you can adjust flow if needed . Good luck !

They came with a setup I bought. I actually thought they were hydor evo's until I started looking closer one day. They've been in service probably 5-8 yrs. I wouldn't of tried them either until I had these.

Just remember, you can increase flow, but can't or will be difficult to decrease flow. Comrade

2 of 32 carnation corals, dendronephthya sp. Doesn't include frags
