Would this be too much bioload for a 75gallon running off a penn-plax canister?

Probably not if it's a 4 for tank. Angelfish may not be reef safe though. Mandarin will need 6 month to a year before adding.
+1. I would probably nix the tang, substitute the angel for a dwarf angel (also potentially not reef-safe) and wait on the mandarin.

Yellow tang would make that tank look so tiny when it was grown, and agree on the mandarin. Need lots of pods, I still dose pods every other day for my little mandarin friends to make sure they are fat and happy!

I'm aware of the drawbacks of the angelfish - its a sacrifice I'm willing to make :p I've also had a Mandarin goby before in my 40 cube so I thought why not get another. Old one died when my boxfish nuked the tank

Yeah people like to stress only adding one later due to the pod population, but I add pods to my tank all the time for my corals and those guys (I have two) and they are both super fat and happy with the pods I add!

Right now I have three:
* Midnight - will eat acans and blastos on command
* Coral beauty - hasn't touched any corals
* Eilbi - not sure if he even knows what a coral is

I also have a semi reef-safe emperor angel that only eats zoas/palys and a handful of LPS corals.
