Setup permanent non fish QT for Corals and Inverts. How long should I cycle before introducing SPS corals? Using Dry Marco, MB7 and dropped in a shrimp.

Usually let fully mine cycle: Ammonia to zero, then nitrites to zero, then reasonable nitrates 10-20 ppm. Often takes 30 days using Seachem Stability as directed on bottle (Stability appears to create the most stable bio condition according to my records. Used to use BioSpira). Dosing clean ammonia. Highly recommend a UV filter. Like "The Green Killing Machine" for a small QT 10-20 gallons. Helps keep the water pristine and clear.

First time I heard using stability instead of biospira or MB 7. What do you mean by "stable bio condition". I currently have a shrimp feeding bacteria right now do you think that will be an issue?

Great question.
Seachem Stability uses a variety of bacteria instead of just one species. So your are creating a tank with a more diverse variety of the "good" bacteria that can react to a larger variety of bio conditions that may occur in your tank. So it can react to and maintain a stronger more vibrant bio condition in your tank which I find nice in both my coral QT that has both LPS and SPS; and in my fish and invert QTs too. Especially the fish QT as it is dosed with meds. I very rarely have to do "required" water changes. Rather I end up doing a weekly water change just to remove debris from the bare bottom.
Hope this helps a bit. QTs can be so frustrating as quarantine time just seems to drag along.
