785 Gallon display tank

I am surprised at how little light there is for that big of a tank and it's growing so well.

Just goes to show that light isn't everything.

Good job! :)

A lot of people over light their system these days because of how powerful led is. When I switched to led years ago I didn't get good growth until I turned down my lights a good bit.

Agreed. I have more than one fixture on my 93 cube but they are turned down. I have multiple for coverage, not power.

A few pics I took this am with coral vue yellow lens

So a very strange thing happened over the weekend....I noticed water on the floor in the stand and I found a drip coming out of one of my heater controllers. There didnt appear to be any water dripping down the cord or coming from above the heater controller. The sheath around the wires was compromised near the titanium element, pic below. I think somehow water started to siphon up through the cord into the controller. I know it sounds crazy, so I stripped the sheath from the wires and there appears to be remnants of salt inside the cord. There was also a lot of moisture inside the controller. It was the controller to the right of the Apex in the 3rd picture. Something I'm missing?

Beautiful tank! Your theory on the heater issue seems plausible; I don't have a better idea of what might have happened. Since electrical tape will not create a water-tight seal, perhaps a small amount of silicone would prevent any more seepage.

Im a little uneasy about heater wire fraying. I see you have CA reactor hooked up. Wish I could see exactly how you have everything connected ( CO tank, probe and regulator) hooked up as I have same reactor and starting to acquire needed components.

Nice tank.

With regard to the electrical I really don't have a comment other than to echo @vetteguy53081 's concern about exposed wires. That shouldn't be the case and they definitely be in the water.

Decided to upgrade lighting with 4 new xr30g4 pro's for a total of 8 on the display. That will leave me with 2x xr30g4pro and one xr30g3pro for the new frag tank. I figured while I'm at it I should add the new nyos reactor and 3x mp40s

Next up I needed some new corals to grow out so I picked up some premium favia and chalice and 5 heads of this beauty of a Dragon Soul torch. Time to get growing for Frag Farmers 2020!

Holy reefbuild Batman!

Looks like you pulled in a real live reef dive into your house. Great Job, what fun! Have you snorkeled in there yet?
