A lot (but not a lot?) happening in my saltwater. I have yellow algae on one of my LR pieces and brown algae on the sand, which is supposedly caused by high nitrates? My tank is 6-7wks old and I have yet to have very many algae types blooming, is that because I only have 20lbs of LR in a 40GAL tank?

Welcome to the site!! More then likely just diatoms, normal at this stage if your tank just finished cycling. If it's done cycling throw in a CuC and they should take care of it. What are your nitrates at?
