8 bulb t5 combo question

the aqua blue is about a 12000k bulb which gives you some white.
Im curious to see what that combo looks like do you have any pics.

From front to back I am running a 8 bulb all ATI
1. blue+
2. blue+
3. coral +
4. blue +
5. Purple +
6. blue +
7. coral +
8. blue +
It is really good but you have to really watch how you light acclimate the corals to the system.. But this is over my frag tank witch is 48Lx24Wx19H so it is really shallow for that much light output. But I just placed screens over top four of them and over a month removed one screen a week. but now i built shelving with a lot of shade so I do not have to do the screen thing no more kind of a pain every time I get something new..

That's cool. I'm going to be switching to ati bulbs soon and am trying to get a idea on what bulbs to order. Since I don't have a lot of money I can't afford to buy extra bulbs to find a combo I like. My plan was to run 2 purple+, 1 aqua blue, and 5 blue plus but I like your combo too. Would you say it is closer to 10000k or 20000k as far as looks.

Dedubya, being so shallow you may be able to get pretty good coverage due to how high you can hang your light but ideally it would be better if you supplemented the front or back with some LEDs or something. 48" is quite a span for 8 bulbs IMO.
What's the color on the coral+ bulbs, I haven't tried one yet? You guys like them?

I would only run one purple so it does not wash the tank out and run one coral+ and one equable special. and the rest blue+ nice color.. looks more towards the 20k depending on how high the fixture is above the water.

I am running two coral plus and I love it nice color really strong though.. I was originally running one aqua blue special and one coral plus And I did not like how white it was so I removed the aqua and replaced with coral plus. Swannyson7 helped me figure out my combos and all i can say is with the coral plus and the growth and color from it I will never use another aqua blue again!!
My light is about 8 inches above the water so even with cheap bulbs I have good growth but not much color.
Yeah I have really cheap bulbs so I'm trying to get as much out of them as possible. Right now I have 4 actinics, 2 6500k, and 2 10000k. The 6500k was a screw up from the place I got my fixtures from so I went with it. Lol
