8 line wrasse Pseudocheilinus octotaenia

I saw an 8 lined wrasse (Pseudocheilinus octotaenia) in a friends tank the other day and just loved the colors under blue lights. They are a very pretty fish! He has only had his a couple of weeks and so far was being a model citizen. The LFS has another one in that's about 3" long and I am seriously considering getting it but wanted to see if anyone here has any experience with them and would like to share. Everything I read says that they can get aggressive but the same can be said of almost every other fish I have in there so I am leaning towards trying it out. Thoughts???

The tank it would be going in is a 1 year old 65 gallon mixed reef.
Current fish are:
pair of mature maroon clowns
tomini tang
one spot foxface
blue chromis
dispar anthias
engineer goby
mature pencil wrasse
I do have some wild caught peppermint shrimp but don't care if it decides that they are food.

As far as the fish goes they are outstanding, at least mine was... Like most will tell you fish can have personalities so it really ends up on the individual. As far as my experience with the 8 line flasher wrasse ( assuming that's the one you are talking about ) it had been nothing less than a model citizen. She eats frozen very willingly and she dosent fight with any of my other wrasse. If you would like to check out some pictures of her with the various other fairy and flasher wrasses I have you can find some on my build thread. All in all a great looking fish with an equally beautiful attitude ( so far )

I clarified the OP. I am asking about the Pseudocheilinus octotaenia 8 lined wrasse not the flasher. Thank you for your response though.

All wrasses of the Pseudocheilinus genus have good potential to become VERY aggressive, especially towards other wrasses. Hence, I advocate they should not be mixed with other wrasses at all.

Not a good idea with your existing pencil wrasse, I'm afraid.

The pencil wrasse is the one I would be most worried about. He is a super cool and friendly fish. Thank you for your input.
