Doing some home renovation and will be relocating a 210 gallon display, will need to replace the stand.

Anybody have advice or experience they are willing to share? Is it "easy" to skin the stand yourself? Does the particular distributor you buy from matter (I have columbus and cleveland distributors to choose from)? Is this stuff up to the weight of a 210 display plus 100g sump/ATO reservoir? Does the aluminum work well with the salty environment and if not do I get it powder coated?

Thanks all

There are quite a few people on here who have done stands out of 80/20. Do a quick search and you'll find a bunch.

What I've seen most people do is attach their skins with magnets to the 80/20. Makes it really easy to get under the tank when you need to. I also understand that many of the suppliers will help you with the design and make sure it can handle the load.

I am really happy with my 80/20 stand 187 display and 60 ish gallon sump.

Great material, bulletproof, industrial look or not, not cheap but worth it

@drtrash nice doors - also the canopy.

Magnets work well. I'm in the process of skinning my steel stand. That is what I'm using. Will cover the base of the magnet with felt. Also like noted above do a search on 80/20 aquarium stands. There are a few on here and some really nice looking ones. Interesting enough the actual 80/20 isn't that expensive. You spend all of the money on the connectors and braces. Those are way out of price alignment if you want my opinion on it :D

Magnets and fully removable skins is exactly what I am looking for!
