Been running low tech LPS tank for 4 years. One Yellow tang, one cleaner shrimp. Programmable LED lighting with 8 hrs between sunrise and sunset. Check & adjust Alk, Mg & Ca weekly with 25% water changes using Brightwell liquid Calcion, Magnesion, and Alkalin 8.3. Mg and Ca have always hovered around nominal 1310/440. Initially Alk was kept at 10 -12, but over the years crept down to the low end of the range, sometimes as low as 7. It seems the weekly water changes made it increasingly difficult to raise alk, but the coral seemed fine. (My understanding is that low range alk hampers growth.) I made three changes back in November 2018: removed electrically leaky fan, added ground wire and switched from Brightwell liquid Alkalin 8.3 to the powder. I followed the stock solution mixing instructions meticulously. I even went and bought a gram scale. And I followed the dosing directions as well. Since that time I have lost a 30 head Duncan colony, a 4 head Golden tip Hammer, an Acan colony, several heads on another Hammer and Frogspawn, Finally, my glorious 12" diameter Bubble coral has shriveled and barely opens. Sometimes the Bubbl is jus flaccid and drooping to the sandy bottom. I have a blue Recordia and a Blasto colony hanging on by a thread. Some larger orange Yuma are affected, but not close to death. Funny thing is the mushrooms in the tank are still going along ok. I thought these were indicator species and would be the first to go. I am sad and perhaps have waited too long to ask for help. But...HELP!!⁹ (Pics taken at 8 am)

Could be a million things but I would start by thoroughly checking your tank for any possible contamination such as rusting magnets, make 100% sure your make up water is 0 tds , run quality carbon and change frequently, run poly filters (poly bio marine) and continue with water changes.. what are you using to make Alk supplements?

Update after testing at 1 pm and supplementing today:
Salinity 1.0255
Alk 6.4
Mg 1300
Ca 420
No Calcion added.
Added 40 ml Magnesion, wait at least an hour before adding Alkalin 8.3
Retest at 4 pm before adding Alkalin 8.3 an level was 7.5!
Why would the Alk change so much in a single day?

Whoa you alk is way low .
I would say looking at all coralline algae and your corals that it’s depleted your alk that quickly . I have 8 small acans , a few other lps and sps with not much coralline growth and I have to dose .15 ml a day of 2 part . My alk drops as .5 a day. Do you hand dose? If so you might want to invest in doser to keep stable parameters. This might not be all of your issue but that low alk number and the swings is hard on your corals ..

Good luck
