Nice setup man. It's looking good.
I am about to setup a shallow reef in my bedroom around 80 gallons. How is the noise? I'm aiming to make mine as silent as I can. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks it was my first attempt at doing a scape...that is usually Nichole's domain. I am very happy with the grain size of the reef flake. It is small enough to allow for a wrasse, but any smaller and I think the flow would become an issue if that makes sense.

Very nice tank i really like your rock scape. Will look amazing when it is filled with corals
Thanks everyone! It is nice to finally have a display tank again! After the wedding it will be time to start filling it in.
Smart move on just using the reef flake. I used the combo (reef flake and mini) and had issues with the flow. I think the reef flake is just the right size. I would definitely recommend this substrate. The only problem is that at times it is hard to get it when you want it. Many times it is out of stock.
Well it seems this build just keeps starting and stopping. Lol.
Capt and I moved again right after Fragtoberfest in October
and somehow broke the tank during the move.
The tank is finally back up and running.
We have a school of 5 blue eyed cardinals and a 10+head duncan colony.
Excited to stock up at FFM in 2 weeks.
1st Pic attached is when we were replacing cracked tank and replumbing.
Capt came up with the idea to use industrial pipe and paint it so that it matches the decor of our apartment a little better.
We had our sand in sealed buckets for a few months. Reused it. Let it settle. Hours later an asterina emerged. Crazy how it survived with no water movement, heat, etc.

Added a few corals from WWC
Just got a light to grow Chaeto from #reefbreeders. And some chaeto to start it up ( thanks @143MPCo )
Got a bunch of frags at FFM. Want to take some better pictures and I'll post up.
In the meantime, quick full tank shot..don't mind the mess..

We had 6 blue eyed cardinals, but we're down to 2. Not sure if they were too weak or killing each other off.
