LOL. Someone else pointed out that the pygmy looks like he's going in for a meal. I didn't even notice it. I've had him for four years and he's been a model citizen.

Can you believe it's been 10 years since PBMAS days. Man time flies. I've got a new job now that involves traveling and I've been to Nashville twice. I just realized that you live just south of there. How do you like living in TN?

80 gallon is a great size. My new tank will be about 125. Thats the largest I would do anymore. I learned how much work large tanks are after the 300 I had in FL.
Time does fly! Its crazy how large PBMAS has gotten also. I am glad to see it still going. Still remember starting it up with Alberto like it was yesterday. Nashville is nice, but the weather is all over the place lol. If your ever around just let me know and we can get together.
Yep I am the sole owner now of Synergy Reef. Same quality different name (lesson #1 never start a partnership when you are the one with the skills) lol

Since the tank is sitting on granite I had to drill it out the back. Not what I preferred to do to a brand new tank, but it had to be done. I set it up for the herbie method. Bottom drain handles 99% of the water going to the sump, while the upper drain is an emergency overflow.
Please disregard the $.02 overflow silencer. :neutral:

Sump action. Skimmer is way over sized so I only run it at night. Helps with the noise since the tank sits 1' from my office desk.

UGH! Now you're making me want to drill the back of my 80! I LOVE having open sandbed and have been dreaming of having that back corner open again! I really want this to be a clean build, though, so I kinda want all the equipment hidden, and not painting the back poses a problem. :/

Thank you. The stand means a lot to me since I built it with my Dad who is really getting up there in age now. I should be able to pass the stand down to one of my kids some day.

Drilling is really very easy if you take your time. I would do it if it's something you will want long term.
I've wanted a rimless tank for years now and am so happy that I did it. Thank you for the compliment.
