I have finished moving from my 30 gallon reef to my new custom built 80 gallon. I am seeing a small diatom bloom, but nothing serious. I added some reef rock and I am waiting for it to seed before adding any more fish. I have ordered an 800GPh powerhead and it should be here anyday and then Im going to upgrade my sump pump to 1000gph. So that will give me about 1900gph flow with the HOB filter I use. My pair of maroon clowns love. I think I will add a school of chromis for a little action and leave it at that. As soon as I can afford to upgrade my lighting I will be doing all LPS and SPS. Can't wait, LOL PS. I am having a little trouble with my diy pvc overflow so I may upgrade that too. Every few days it stops flowing until i suck the air out again. I sealed around the tube and it still does it. Any ideas why?

Sorry, can't help you out, just wanted to say congrats on your new tank!! Looks great! :)

Cant really get a good picture since it is up against the wall behing the tank. The green pipe you see in the pic is the inside part with the pipe on the right as the actual overflow piece. I built it from this utube video with 1 1/2 pvc to handle 840gph. I don't have a hole in the standpipe, could that be the problem. It seems to flow well without the hole so I didnt drill one.
