What are people who have monster rodi units with at least 800 gpd membranes using for booster pumps? I have done some looking but can't seem to find any.

I have a 180 and 75 tied into the same sump and my saltwater mixing tank is 300 gallons ... so just above a nano barley lol

Yea my issue is I'm on a well and when I was running my 150gpd I would run the well dry and it would take me a week to fill the container. The other fun issue i have is the tds going into the ro unit is just about 400. With the new membranes I'm running and booster pump that doesn't like to run for more then an hour, gets the tds to 16 at best. So buy stock in di resin cause I go through a ton hahah
I run the below with my blue marlin 1000gpd. I do have a single feed coming straight from my main feed to the house that uses this. Luckily, I have somewhat high water pressure from the get go (~75-~80 psi), but this pump allows me to run the 100 psi needed for the kit I purchased all at once. It is second link.

If your issue is that you’re running your well dry then wouldn’t adding multiple membranes in series be a better solution than a larger commercial membrane? If the larger membranes don’t have a better waste to product ratio then I don’t see how it helps. Also, I don’t see why adding your waste water back to your well wouldn’t be an option, although it would increase your supply waters tds.
If going through a lot of resin it may be worth looking into replenishing it. I’ve never done it but it only takes some pretty common chemicals to recharge the resin.

My thought was more gpd = less water wasted or at least that was my thought process ... could be entirely wrong. I also never new or thought to look to see if di resin could be recharged I will have to look into that for sure

I admittedly don’t know anything about commercial sized membranes but just from a quick google search you may be right. The first 800gpd membrane that I found states a 2.5:1 concentrate to permeate ratio, which is indeed better than “normal” sized membranes.
I greatly reduced my waste water by adding three membranes in series, but if your starting tds is 400 that likely wouldn’t have been a good solution for you.

My current set up is using 2 400 gpd membranes and the current booster pump is pushing roughly 125-140 psi into them but that pump over heats in roughly an hour so then the 16 tds coming out of them climbs to roughly 25 ish and as well the production absolutely goes down
@Ron Reefman has a commercial-type setup, or at least he used to.

BRS recommended I remove one of my membranes and just go with a single one as the 2nd one will receive a higher concentration of TDS and be less efficient. I need to read up on that..I dont fully understand atm.

Ya I get the second membrane gets beat up from the higher tds from the first membranes waste water

I still have it. It's a Cirqua system. I think they be out of business now... I'm not sure. I get my parts from Buckeye. It does about 40gph or almost 1000gpd. The pump is from GE Industrial and it's serious over kill. I have a 40g RO/DI tank and a 180g cistern for reject water which I use for doing laundry. The small system above the big one is gone now. I kept it for several years until I knew the big one would be reliable. It's been running for me for 10 years now.
