Starting a new 80gallon cube reef next month and was wondering what's a good quality skimmer and return pump and should I go with and should I go the DC route for them? I would like to keep a couple of fish and LPS in this setup.

Would love to see a picture of it.

As for wavemaker, I have used Jebao. It's ok for the price. But my next wave maker and pump will be a vortech. For these reasons. I need a wireless to position pump where I want it cleanly, and they have a battery backup system available for them. Plus, I saw one in a store and it was 10x quieter than mine. Soon as I got the cash to do it all at once I am getting a pump, wavemaker, and battery back-up system. My system works fine with what I have now. But after NOT hearing them at pet store they are now on my wishlist. Plus... no cable.

Wow.. I can't type for beans on my cell lol. I'll post a thread with pics once my tank arrives. After keeping live fresheater plants I figured it's time to get back to reef keeping. Plus I got the pH controller and co2 tank for a Calc reactor. Also got tons of co2 parts and brass fittings. I noticed a lot of people run Jebao but wasn't sure on the quailty of them. The vortex pumps sound sweet depending on the price. Just don't want anything to fail when I'm not home. What brand of skimmer are you running?

My skimmers have nothing to skim yet, tanks only 5 months old. I have one specific to my seaclear system II aquarium, and I have a lee's counter current skimmer. I do keep the seaclear one in tank so it is ready to skim once there is something for it to skim. Tank is under bioload, and has good filtration. So until I add more fish I don't see it skimming any time soon.
