818 Tangerine Sky. Shout out to this acro. Anyone else growing this?

I've definitely struggled with some SPS in my tank, but this is one that seems to be able to take a beating, while also having awesome coloration. The polyp extension on this, at least in my tank, is always amazing. Super fluffy and shaggy. When my tank seems to be going thru an issue, I can always count on this things polyps being fully extended. Growth is also great.

Anyways, I've been through at least 50 acros at this point, some made it some haven't. This has been one of the best I've had IMO in terms of aesthetics, growth, and heartiness. I've definitely hit a wall with the acros that look awesome, but just grow so slowly or even die ):

Just wanted to give a shout out if you haven't checked it out!

What lighting and parameters do you have yours in? I picked up a frag back in April from the wholesaler who brought the piece in. Both my frag and his that he keeps in his LFS display tank are encrusting nicely but not shooting up any branches. Mine has the great polyp extension but not the color.

I haven't tested PAR in awhile. I think it's approx 150-200. I'd wager on the lower end. I'll see if I can test it and report back.

Nitrate: 3-8
Phosphate: .03-.08
Alk: 7.9-8.1
Ph: Unreliable probe most likely. Always displays 8.5-8.7
Temp: 78-79
Cal: 430-450
Mag: 1350-1400

Curious, what colors are you pulling (or failing to pull)? I'd say keep riding it out as is. In my opinion encrustment only isn't the worst thing. Especially if you have polyp extension. I'm not an SPS expert by any means but I'd ride it out, be patient, just keep things stable and see what happens. Also you're only 3 months in with the frag, I'm showing nearly one year progress pics. JMO.

Not much in the way of colors on my piece, but seeing tiny spots of promise so looking forward to changes ahead. In speaking with the wholesaler who brought it in, he mentioned how different the colors are on this piece at the different vendors.
I run an ATI 24" 4 bulb hybrid powermodule. Recently took out my Coral+ bulb for another B+, so now combo is 3 B+, Purple+. Trying to dial in this fixture might be part of the issue although other coral in the tank have pretty good coloration.
Funny you mention your ph numbers might not be accurate. I think I'm dealing with the same issue and need calibration fluid or new probe.

Ok I see what you mean about color. That looks way different than I was expecting. I think my coverage is really good, also spectrum may be an important factor. I'm running 4x radion G6 XR15 blues with 2x AI blade glows. I run a heavy blue spectrum with a substantial amount of white/cool white.

That's looking amazing!!

One year of growth from when I got this in Aug 2023. I just shot this pic 5 mins ago.

Been a great acro for me. It’s on my top 5 for sure. I’m surprised at how easy it’s been for me. Just seems like it’s always happy versus so many acros that get ticked or random stn/rtn.

You're missing the Agent Orange to go with it! Same species just as easy to keep color just more orange and red!! They go perfectly together and are both stand out pieces! That thing is going to take off with all that growth now.
