I am planning my next tank. Hope to pull the trigger by the end of the year. Have been doing a lot of research, and narrow down to these 3 Waterbox aquarium that cost about the same.

1. I know this may sounds weird, but i like the Freshwater Clear Pro 130G ( 60.5"×25.3"×21.7" ). I plan on Tunze 9012 skimmer, and 3618 internal filter for this setup.
2. Option 2 is a more traditional reef setup. Marine X 80G + 26G sump (47.2"×19.7"×21.7")

I'm leaning towards #1. For the same amount of money, you get 130G versus 80G (display tank size). I would think Tunze 9012 & 3618 in tank can still give a clean look. Anyone with experience with using the same combination? Is this sufficient for the tank size?

Anyone regret not having a sump? I understand sump is more convenience to hide equipment, and have more options in the future to add other equipment (dosing etc).

The setup is primary for FOWLR and maybe some softies and mushroom in the future. My current FOWLR setup is a 15G with just canister. I am just worry i will regret not having a sump. Originally thinking about Waterbox AIO system , but the largest is only 50G display + 15G in tank sump. Want a bigger system.

Someone talk me out of this crazy idea!

My first tank I ran without a sump and honestly will never go again without one. So much nicer for equipment and just aesthetics in the DT.

Go with the 80 w/sump, or get the 130 and plan on a sump, down the road.
I think a sump simplifies filtration via skimmer, refugium. This can allow for fewer water changes and better water quality.

You can call and request the 130 to be drilled, see if they can do it. Then get a seperate sump. The one thing i dislike about my 90 is its 18" wide, having it wider would of been nicer.
