I have a 120g dual overflow tank. I want to mount a power head behind my rocks, on the glass, pointed along the bottom of the glass because I'm getting a bit of cyano back there.

Can anyone recommend a powerhead that does a 90 degree right angle, and will hold through 1/2" glass? I don't need to make waves, just move some water. I will on/off via Apex if needed.

Thanks!!

What about one of the Tunze Turbelle pumps?
Dependable, some are controllable, some are not.

I would say just get a gyre man you won’t have a problem with any of that

Agree with Tunze Turbelle. Even the Nanostream 6015 works on glass up to 1/2 inch thick.

I have the same thing a 120g with 2 corner overflows. When I changed over to the gyres I moved return pump output to do the job you described and that took care of my flow needs. Tank is happier than its ever been

I have a similar situation where I was getting low flow spots at the rear of my tank, and having detrius issues. My solution was the Tunze 6040. Now, I only have one overflow, so I mounted one on either side and was able to resolve my flow issues without much hassle at all. The 6040's have an adjustable deflector, so you can position the pump 360 within the tank, and then move the deflector 360 in the opposing axis. Its really flexible and the warranty and customer service by Tunze is top notch. These things just run! And since they are controllable, you can go from 50-1200 gph so you can really dial them in. Im not sure what the magnet rating is on the pump, but you could easily buy the extender magnet which is good upto 1" thick glass if need be. I have mine on the overflow, which is thin plastic, so Im not much help there.

Nice! Is the dry side of the magnet safe to be submerged?

You're killing me man. I've been eyeing the gyre for a while now, which ones are you using?

Just get a gyre ha ha you can mount them right side up and you can also get the little guy for small places.. I have the maxspect gyre 3k on my 90gal it works like a dram I also got one for my old man on his 150gal and we don’t run them anywhere near full potential maybe 50% output 60% return for that gyre flow
