Hey y’all! Thanks for all the advice I got, I have done A LOT more research and I’m ready. I bought a 90 gallon, I’m picking it up on Wednesday- it came with a good light, stand, canopy, and filter- i now just need to think about a refugium, heater, carbon skimmer, etc! Super excited, decided on a kole / tomini tang, red head Solon wrasse, mated cardinal banggai pair, caramel clown pair, a starry blenny, a coral beauty or flame angel, haven’t decided yet, some other small ones, and maybe an angler? I don’t know, it’s a hard choice. Super pumped!

The angler will eat any thing and everything else In the tank please do some indepeth resurch on this fish before purchasing or u will end up with just an angler

I know that about the anglers- that’s why I said I haven’t decided yet

Sounds like a good stock list! :) Welcome to R2R!!
I don’t think I would need one, because I would only have to change the membrane out every 3-5 years... is a flush valve NEEDED?

Thanks! I got a question for you- I’m trying to purchase an RODI unit- do I NEED a flush valve, and do the RODI units come with them?
Although a flush valve is not required, I would suggest it to prolong the life of the membrane. Here is the RODI unit I have and recommended.

I also wanted a Pygmy angler:)
yes you're going to want to flush valve on your Rodi unit there is what they call TDS creep from the membrane sitting with water in it when you use the flush valve it flushes this water out so that way the clean water coming out of the Rodi unit is low TDS this extends the life of the membrane which in turn extends the life of the DI resin and keeps All The Unwanted stuff out of your aquariums

How often the membrane is changed out also really heavily relies on how much TDs is in your city water the two to three years is just a guideline you'll know when it's exhausted though cuz you're DIY resin will change from Blue to Brown after running just 50 gallons of water through it I know this is I just went through it a couple weeks ago

That’s a bit expensive- got anything cheaper for me? I was thinking about the six stage Koolermax and just purchasing a separate flush valve from BRS and attaching it to that.
