This is my stand. It's in bad shape. Anyone have the software to design another one like it or rectangle? Its approximately 49" long by 19" deep by 32" tall. It doesn't have to have that bow shape to the front of it due I dont think I have the tools to make it like that. Thank you very much.

Hmmm... You may want a steel stand matching that curve. I don't know about not having the entire front section supported, then again you can always go with angled font supports and maybe reuse the facade of you like it and do plywood on top to get the curve you need.

I don't know now to design it but I can build it. Not a problem.

Definitely will make it out of wood. Steel would be way to heavy.

I Don't know your dimensions or anything but basically I would think something like this

Then you can use very thin ply to get the front you curve for the fecad

It is 49" wide x 19" deep x 32" tall. The edges are 13 and 5/8" top and bottom. Inside of top and bottom are 47 1/2" wide and 1' deep.

That is a very tight Radius There is no reason why you cant make the top follow the contour of the tank and make the front out of 3 flat panels .or even two as far as that goes.

I'll use a whole piece of some hardwood. Maybe birch. Most likely oak.

Hi, I have about a month to get a stand built for a 90 gal b.front. What did you wind up building..i.e..specs..type of wood.
I am having help with a serious builder friend...but I want to do the legwork on stuff, as he's building a boat. If you don't mind showing a pic or two I would love it.:-)

Make a template of the tank. For the curved part of the tank RIP some 2x4 lengthwise into 2x2's on a tablesaw. Make the uprights follow the curve like every 6" on center. Go over the uprights with a layer of 1/4" thick plywood and glue it all. Then glue the entire surface e of the plywood and lay another 1/4" layer over it. Then do it one more time so you have a full 3/4" plywood layer. It will be stronger than what you could ever put on it and will never come apart. Use a good hardwood ply like poplar. Then just use some regular 2x4 for the rest of the box and wrap all those sections in 3/4" plywood.

Thank you sir for taking the time to give me such a detailed response ; I will take these instructions with me this weekend. Kudos!

Oh this is for you? I thought someone else asked how to do it curved. I can actually draw something up later when I get home from work on C.A.D real quick and show you in 3D. What are the dimensions of the tank? How tall would you like the stand?

What type of finish do you plan on putting on the tank? Paint, stain? That wood aid in the selection of wood type. If you use oak plywood your looking at about 53.00 per sheet. Birch is about the same. Poplar is nice if you are going to paint. And is about 47-48.00 per sheet.

I want to do a stain. Let me check my notes later in the day.. the guy that sold it to me gave me the specs over the phone.
My ex husband is a mechanical engineer; so I am used to seeing CAD designing being done at home. I apo
Here, take a look at the first page of my build thread. You can see what I mean about the 3D drawing. Here is the link.

I'm onlin enow for a few minutes, so will do; btw, my ex is a mechanical engineer, but I don't think he's inclined to help me with my build; I do have CorelDraw; but haven't used it since '07, and your CAD software, if it is like my ex's is high dollar and intricate to the trade so; it's out of my pay grade. I can read the design 'flow' as it were though...thanks!

I new to posting here. I will get the specs and post a message reply to you as soon as my seller sends precise specs to me. It's in Ca

I only have cad software because I'm an electrical contractor. I have the architects send me their cad files because their so called "Electrical Engineers" never do anything right. I constantly change what they do. Then I send it back to them and let know that this is how it's going down. Put your seal on it! Lol

Hi again! Found a DIY build thread for a 72 gal corner bowfront DIY on another site.Pdf'ed the whole thing. Went to the store and got dimensions for a 92; height...etc, etc, on the stand and what's comforable for my viewing.
Going to send my specs to my seller; and make sure he's gotten the PRECiSe measurements I need in total. I still want to build; I am not in a huge rush; although in an apt and now small; I have a nice storage place like 10-12ft tops, and can get everything in there while I build.
NOW...with that being said; I COULD get lazy and buy a new one from the place in town for $499.00...it's a thought...I do eBay, and have a chandelier that I haven't used in 12 years; it's HUGE, and although I'd sell it for less; it would pay for half the cost of the stand.........I'm going to sleep on it til next Friday. I do NOT do anything in haste...unless I hit the Lotto and that isn't going to happen 'cause I don't play the Lotto.
I got pics of the 92 at the store, and I am SO on fire now...WOW!
I may have a question or two; but I don't want to be a nudge (N.Y. slang..lol). I am trying to be independent here.
I'll still post the numbers; it's been a long week, I'll be back after I'm back in town next Thursday
Thanks for listening!
