Hi, I'm setting up a 90 gallon bowfront predator tank, I was wondering what kibda predator fish could be added in a tank like this. Looking for some kinda puffer for sure maybe a huma huma trigger or a lionfish. Idk what do you guys recommend ill upgrade to a 180+ gallon tank within a a year or 2. Let me know thanks

My favorite of all predators is the Clown Trigger!
They do get huge though! The only downside is they can have a Jekyll and Hyde type personality. I’ve had two personally over the years. Lots of personality. Puffers have great personalities also. Almost doglike! A clown trigger would need a 300-400 gallon tank though! The Picasso Trigger would be more appropriate tank wise for both the 90 and 180. It would out grow the 90 though. Hawaii’s state fish!
Picasso’s have a pretty good temperament also. There several puffers that would in either size of the tanks mentioned. Some would need more the 180 size. Good luck on making a decision. That’s the fun part!

Yessir, I love clown triggers I have a friend with one and I put my hand in to grab something and he bite me with his sharp teeth lol. Clown triggers just likely aren't realistic for me to ever get. Puffer fish is definitely on my list. Picasso trigger id definitely consider. Maybe a smaller species of lionfish. Not a hole lot of choices for a 90 gallon that's for sure lol.

I agree, a Clowns not very realistic for the tank Sizes mentioned. But had to throw it out there! They produce a ton of waste also! I had Picasso about 15 years ago. It was a great fish!! Don’t think you could go wrong there.

90
The tank I had the trigger in was 300 gallons. I dont have that tank anymore. At the moment I run a 54 gallon. And my custom 210 just arrived last week.
Been waiting for that thing to be built for months now.
That's awesome, is it rimless?, what other predator fish did you have in ur 300 gallon. All I have is another 90 gallon reef tank, with a yellow tang and a few clownfish and a cardinal.

This tank was homemade. Built out of acrylic. No it wasn’t rimless. It wasn’t a predator tank either. Was more of a community type tank. Emperor Angel, Yellow Tang, Blue Tang, Auriga Butterfly, random damsels, pair off Clowns, and the trigger.
I moved and tore the tank down.
