90 gallon In-Wall Build

Starting my first tank in over a decade. Recently moved into a 80s house with a closet converted to an ugly wet bar in the family room. We weren't sure what to do with the wet bar until we figured out we needed an in-wall tank.

I bought a complete 90 gallon set up from a guy and I'm starting the construction process. Hopefully I can keep up with this thread and learn a lot in the process.

Finished the stand and placed the tank. It is a 90 gallon Aqueon. I need to build out the bottom shelf now to install the sump.

Worked on the aquascape tonight and set up the lights, Noopsyche K7 Pro II. Need to spend some time learning how to program the lights.

I have my display in wall. Be careful with your rock height. I just took out a monti that I couldn’t see. This is what it looked like from inside.



You really couldn’t see it to appreciate it in the house after the first 6-8 months, as it grew out from a few frags. Well not unless you were in the fish room on a ladder lol.

Wow. Good to know. I did keep the rock off the back of the tank. I will try to remember to occasionally check the back. Thanks for the heads up.

Dosing pump (not sure the exact brand at the moment)

Anything I sure consider getting in the near future? I'm getting a RODI soon, just not sure if it will be before I fill the tank or not. That's a lot of trips to the LFS.

Original owner had the Gyre mounted on the back, but I think it would be more effective mounted on the side. Thoughts?

what has your research shown on the noopsyche lights? Are they good for soft coral?

There are a couple positive reviews for Noopsyche on YouTube. Everyone complains about the controller interface, but once it's set up, you don't use it much.

Finally got the main body of the cabinet done. Starting to get it filled with water now. Can't wait to start cycling.

Haven't done much in a while. Just letting the display tank cycle with the heater and the grye running. Definitely saw a peak and drop of nitrites, but ammonia and nitrates have been a little harder to read. I have an API test kit, which I read will always show ammonia and is just difficult to read in general. I'll be picking up a red sea kit soon.

Got my sump space put together. Any issue with the overflow hose having a low spot? I actually have the sump lower than what the original owner had, so I guess he was running with the same curve.
