I have a traditional 90 gallon (48x18x24) with a 40gal breeder sump. Overall, about 110 gallon system. I have 2 snowstorm clowns (about 2in) and a royal gramma. Looking for help on filling the tank up a bit more. I want a yellow tang, I was just trying to get some of the smaller fish in first. Also considering watchman goby/pistol shrimp, and a wrasse some point down the line. This is also a reef tank. Any recommendations/order of stocking would be helpful!

I have the same system and just added a yellow tang as likely my last fish. I'm going to assume you need reef safe, so here are some of my favorites, and a few warnings:

Dartfish- quite active and the zebra barred dartfish is awesome looking

Fairy and flasher wrasse of all sorta. Gorgeous fish that "fit" this sized system well. I also have a Melanarus wrasse that I love.

Marine betta- very cool fish, as long as nothing else is small enough to be eaten by him.

Bangaii cardinals- super cool but underrated.

A few warnings- I have lyretail anthias, but. It sure I would reccomend. No matter what I try, I can't keep more than 4, they kill any additional ones. I think the system is a bit small to expect a "school" of them.

I've got a dottyback, and won't get another. Big enough system for them to grow and get bold, small enough to keep everyone else from escaping the.

Marine Beta is an awesome fish. Extremely slow metabolism so doesn't require much food and adds almost no bioload. Bigger ones will occasionally eat very small shrimp. Medium sized shrimp or medium sized beta would be fine together.

You could also easily keep 2 tangs in that 90 as long as you don't let them get bigger than 5-6 inches.

Long nose hawk fish is cool and has a different look to it.

Royal Gramma will always be in my tanks. Mine fought with an anthia i had though. Got rid of the anthia as I much prefer the look of the gramma.

Love dartfish, especially zebra barred!!!!!

I would also consider cardinals, but I like pajama cardinals better!

I run heavy blues, and think the bangaii's look amazing and almost glow under that lighting. I rather like the pajama Cardinals under regular lights though.

I love either of them in the system just because they have an unusual and tall body shape that's rare on the reef, which breaks up the torpedo shape that most fish (aside from tangs) have.

Would 100% recommend a Pygmy angel. I have a cherub right now and he’s a model citizen! Beautiful colors and very active fish, just watch them if you add zoas or sps. Long nose or geometric hawk fish are also super cool, just bought a geometric today. A goby/pistol shrimp pair could also be super awesome.

Did you put your tangs in last?

Nope, I had the Chromis & Azure Damsels in the tank along with the Onyx Clowns. Then I added the tangs, then the Sixline and Royal Gramma.
The reason why I added the tangs like I did was I got a really good deal for them ($40 each) at Reefapalooza Orlando last year, so I couldn't pass them up.
