90 gallon stocking idea

i want to do a damsel only tank trying to immitate a african cichlid tank but with damsels, any idea if this would work? how many in a 90 gallon roughly should i do if it would work and what species would work best? if not other ideas are always welcomed just wanted easier fish to care for that are active. filtration is very good octo 130 bioballs uv sterilizer etc wont be stocking until december though at the earliest. i have damsels right now (pink smiths) and they are not the demons everyone makes them out to be tbh, maybe some are but in my experience these guys are not.

There are many opinions on how many fish per gallon or per inch. I think that could look cool. I would like to see you when you do.
