Saw a video of a guy who had a sump with plants in it to feed his fish. I have a spare 90 laying around, and the room behind my tank is lower in hight, and a sun room. Would it be possible to turn to 90 into a sump?

Absolutely you can! Check out the DIY forum for some great sump designs. What is your current set up?

Setting up my first saltwater. My buddy gave me a 90 predrilled, and as I started to aquire items for it I fell into a nice 1/2 inch glass 180 gallon.

Good deal!

Can you post a picture of the 90 as well as the dimensions? We can likely come up with some useful ideas for you.

I'm gueasing 4' long 2' high 18" inches deep.

Also, I'm a food grade welder, so I have an endless supply of stainless steel.

You can make baffles out of panes of glass to separate the compartments of the sump. The main thing to look for is if your sump is under the display tank in a cabinet, you need enough of a gap between the top of the sump and the roof of the cabinet to reach in and access your equipment.

It's gonna be in a separate room behind the big tank. I'm gonna run chiller, skimmer, etc all to the other room.
