How would you design it? I picked up a 90 gallon setup about 4 months ago and want to upgrade to a six foot long tank. I found a 125 reasonable and I am going to buy it and build me a stand for it.

I have a 30 gallon sump now,,,,please give me ideas on how you would design a 90 gallon. Or is that overkill for a 125 gallon tank? Would you stick with the 30 or build one out of the 90?

Sump size is, for the most part, personal preference. I believe it is always good to add as much to the total water size as possible. Either size will work, really. You also have to think about how much room you'll have under the stand.

Btw, I've installed 30 gallon sumps on a 200 gallon build without issue.

It also needs to be large enough for your equipment.
