Hi I just bought a 90 gallon tank and need to know what size sump I should buy. And any brand that are really good?

Thank you

Welcome to R2R! I have a 90. I bought on Amazon an Eshopps RS-200 sump. It's the biggest sump that fits under my tank in the cabinet, with a bit of room to spare. Good price and works great. The only thing is the filter socks are rectangular and are only available manufactured by Eshopps, so they cost more than the round ones you see on other brands of sumps. You want to have extra socks on hand. They sell them in a 3 pack. Other than that, it's a good system.

Minimum of a 29 gallon and ideally as big of a sump as you can fit. I have a 29 gallon on my 90 and it seems to work pretty well for my tank. Personally I wouldn't pay a fortune for a pre-fab sump. If you live in an area with an LFS see if they have a used DIY (Do it yourself) sump that has already been setup and you can probably pick it up dirt cheap with minimal cleaning required. I got mine as part of a package deal with the stand, sump, protein skimmer, return pump and virtually all of the plumbing for $250.

I agree, I have a 90 gallon with a 15 gallon sump and I wish it was twice that size.
