I'm a little behind on life but my 9012 kicked the bucket a few weeks back. I've cleaned it well and it seems the foamer is just not getting power. My surge protector also lost "protection" when the skimmer died so I'm assuming the two are related. Are replacement foamers available in the US or am I looking at needing a brand new skimmer?

Yes, but are you sure the pump is dead? Most of the time it is just a bad impeller, if it is just that the pump will hum or vibrate when plugged in, you may have to have the bare pump in hand to notice. The pump is available, both in the AC and DC versions. Let me know.

I'm sure it's the pump. (You sent me a replacement impeller in the fall.) I did just check again and held the bare pump under water...no vibrating, hum, or buzz. Just nothing.
This is the one I need to replace:

The replacement impeller was only in use for maybe 3 weeks before the motor died. Is there a benefit to the dc pump over the ac? I have dc return pumps but not sure how that would apply to the skimmer.

Pros and cons as with DC pumps in general. An AC pump will usually last much longer as it lacks any electronics which have finite life components. The DC pump gives you more control and easier adjustment. In general an AC pump should last 10 years+ with care, the maximum life of a DC pump will be about 7 years and that is generous, 5 years would be the expected in most cases. If the pump is less than 2 years old, I would suggest sending it in for warranty coverage.

Thanks for the info, Roger. Skimmer is less than 2 years old...won it from Rev in June 2015 so the pump is still under warranty, correct?

@rvitko Roger, where do I send the foamer for warranty work and what should I use as proof of purchase since I won it in a giveaway? Should I send it just the foamer or include the impeller as well? Thanks!
