I Started this tank last September and have learned A LOT since this was my first attempt at keeping a Reef aquarium. My biggest challenge so far is figuring out which of the more expensive additives I need more than others. For example I have tried many different ways to keep up my calcium and alkalinity numbers. I have tried the red sea foundation products which are great but get to be expensive. I have moved on to kalkwasser which also works well but it is now not able to keep up with m tanks demand. I have now ordered a dosing pump, I'm hoping this will not only make it easier to maintain the appropriate levels but also be less expensive in the long run. Also my wife loves automation, the more I can automate for her the happier she is.

I hope to upgrade a few things in the future

my first big upgrade is lighting. I am seriously considering the reefbreeders led Photon 48. I would love to go the ecotech radion route but I just don't thin I will be able to afford that. I also plan on upgrading to a larger skimmer soon. I am looking hard at the aquamaxx am-200.

If anyone has any comments on my possible upgrades let me know! I really appreciate everyone's input.

It is Always great to see what others are creating in their homes and offices! I wish the many states who are banning collecting would see what caring hobbyists do.
