Before coming to America 30 years ago I lived in Europe and had access to some amazing reef shops especially in Germany, I used everything from an under gravel filter, with air pumps, to complete Tunze systems. Salt was always Instant Ocean and lighting was T8. The only corals I could get were a few LPS and soft corals, In the late 80's I came to America to live and was surprised at he lack of knowledge, bit has that changed !
My last tank was a 500G mixed reef, using Zeovit, lighting all LED and I achieved an ULNS with good growth and results, I thought I was moving sold it, and decided to stay in Florida! My new tank will be a 90G 48" will be delivered tomorrow,
My questions are:
1) should I use Triton or use Red Sea method ??
2) LED or T5 (I do not use halides I had one explode on me!) I will start with Kessil 360 but will probably change later

My skimmer will be Deltec, I will be using. mixture of Tonga Brach and Carib sea rock, and will cycle the tank with Red Sea Mature Reef. Salt Red Sea, Vortech MP40 for flow alternating between constant and Reef crest mode.
I am aiming for parameters of
Salinity: 1.025, T 77-78*F, Ca 450, Alk 8 , Mg 1400, Additives depending on system used (Triton or Red Sea)
More to come later once the tank is delivered tomorrow

Sounds like a fun project, looking forward to seeing it come together.

I don't know much about Zeo/REd Sea ULNS, but for the lights, why not combine LED and T5? You could get more complete coverage and have a minimal T5 replacement cost annually.
