just happened today. got the phone call while i was at the park with my daughter. was told that the tank exploded. well as you can see it did and supposedly no one was in the 2nd floor playroom when it happened. the next 3 hours was a fun clean up. all fish died. all coral lived!!!!!!
so on a good note i got some sweet stuff. but really sad that i lost this client, cuz i guess 100 gallons of water seeping through your house is enough to say no more and they were a great client.(i will post pics of the saved coral another time)

Hard to believe that "no one" was there when it happened.

Glass doesn't just decide to break.

Had a friend, who's son through a match box car at their 55 and it shatter. They too called it quits after that. Families with young children and especially if the tank is in the play room, should consider an acylic tank.

Sorry to see this happened :(

That suck's...Atleast some stock was saved! What caused the break?
not sure, just happened. was what the owners said
there is a small chip on the left corner that i think that was caused by one of the kids but i cant prove it
the large piece of glass was 8 feet away from the tank so the water pressure threw it there and could have killed someone

Wow!!!! Crazy.... I have read some stories about tempered tanks exploding from temperature changes or a small scratch.... But that tank obviously isn't tempered.... Hmmmmm very strange...:(

Aga!!!!!!!!.....thats #3 the other 2 were in the same house on different floors. both 72 bows and the silicone seam on the front bottom gave a month apart

oh my mind is blown, cant wait for the dreams tonight

and all the corals look fine and happy with the exception of the pearl bubble and a few hammers

HHMM I would say the kids prolly tapped a small chip in it and over time it finally gave way...
