90g RR only 1/4" glass?

Is this normal for standard aqueon/marineland/deep blue tanks. I know if not tempered it should be thicker but my 90g RR has 1/4" tempered front and back panels. I think the sides are just 1/4" non tempered. Bottom is tempered too but I can't measure it now (already plumbed etc). I haven't fired her up yet though so just want to make sure this wasn't a mistake?

It is rimmed with center brace btw.

The volume of the tank isn't what dictates the glass thickness, it is the tank height that matters most. The height of the water column is what exerts the pressure on the glass. How tall is your tank?

I understand that, I only said 90g to identify the tank as all standard 90g rr are 48x18x24h. Thanks for posting.

I would call the manufacturer. I would agree that a 1/4" thick glass doesn't sound enough for a 24" tall tank.

I know that some use 3/8" but may not necessarily be tempered. I wonder if the 1/4" is okay since it's tempered/braced. I really don't want to cut my plumbing lol. Anyone else have a 90 with 1/4" glass?

Rough, I thought more people had 90s

. Haven't heard back from customer service and I'm afraid to fire er up.

Everything I have found says it should be 1/2" glass. Can't find anything that addresses the fact the glass may be tempered. Let's try to get some more input from the #reefsquad

I have a 90 rr corner overflow aqueon tank. I think its like 5 years old, its 1/2, pretty thick. Deffinetly not 1/4.

Thank you very much for posting. If you get a chance and measure it I would really appreciate it. The difference between 1/4" and 3/8" is very minimal so who knows, but I am inclined to believe you are correct in saying that it is 3/8" as I have heard that before. Mine is a deep blue and I know they usually temper more panels than other brands. I'm wondering if having the 1/4" tempered is okay and 3/8" is for non tempered.

Hopefully someone with an existing deep blue 90 can chime in as well. I just want to make sure this wasn't a mistake.
