90g with offset overflow

recently bought a 90 gallon reef ready aquariumwith an offset overflow my question is what is your experience with it is there many problems with flow getting to all areas of the tank do I have to worry about this should I change the location of the overflow if able to. I also bought a 75 gallon with a corner overflow. which one would be better to use if I was not able to change the overflow location in the 90 gallon

So me I would place the return on the short side and use the opposite side real estate for wave makers in different directions.

This is my previous 90 gallon (pic is several years old but it's one of the few I could find that shows the wavemakers, etc.)
I kind of liked the space on the left between the overflow box and the edge... Kind of a cryptic zone, lots of cool critters lived there
I liked it so much that I asked the custom builder who made my current tank to position the overflow the same way, but it would have blocked the bracing.

I had a split return and 2 wavemakers... sorry, the mag float is partly blocking the power head on the left.
